Others is not as utility as you thought

Many people that participate in the Others exam with unpractical expectations often end in failure. Many of them have misperceptions:

• The Others certification is only way by which I can find a job;
• Others certification is the golden key to the success;
• To be Others certified will get my dream job;
• Others certification is the industry rules of IT industry,
• Others certification is a big gold mine...

Does Others certification really play such a great role? Maybe we own the unrealistic expectations for the misunderstandings in the certification.

In fact, certificate examination, take the example of Cisco 642-105, is only used to assess a candidate' knowledge of certain software, his logical thinking ability and problem resolution ability. However, nearly every client or emplor hopes you are experienced and skillful. It should be known that Others certification exam will not increase your working experience. Bosses never pay salaries only because of your certificate. They prefer efficence work more than such a certificate. You need not only the ability to undertake any task that is appointed to you, but also the ability to finish them successfully before deadline and not go beyond the budget.

In addition, the exam of 642-105 mainly concerns the technical skills, but it is impossible only to depend on the skills to succeed in the IT industry. So, if you want to achieve success, you need not only to have a good command of some technique skills, but also have to know much other knowledge such as interpersonal relationship, negotiation skills, teamwork, etc.

In all, you should think it clearly before taking the certification exam, and assure that you have enough time and resource to finish the exam. You might as well get more useful experience from the media, the Internet or even your boss.
